Attention!  Your input is VITAL for the Survival of

Svea Lutheran Church!

Please return the completed surveys to the church by MAY 4th, 2019

There has been a lot of concern expressed regarding the future of Svea Lutheran Church.  Are there things we can do to insure we will still be here 10, 25 years from now?  Change can be challenging.  We want to keep our Svea identity and be true to the ministry of our church.  But we also want to keep our “Church on the Hill” healthy and promoting God’s love in our community.

Svea’s Focus group has put together the following survey to provide you an opportunity to give feedback both regarding what we are doing well, and areas where we might improve. Please prayerfully respond to this survey while considering what you would be willing to do, or compromise on to help keep Svea alive so we don’t just disappear.  This survey is important and confidential; please express your true feelings so we can make an honest assessment of our strengths as well as areas that need attention. Please use the back of this sheet for any additional comments that you might have.

It is important that we receive honest feedback from as many as possible including current and past members, those recently confirmed and young adults that are in college or have moved from the area. Additional copies are available at church, by emailing Pastor Dean ccyguy@yahoo.com, or the church website:  www.svealutheran.org.  Feel free to make additional copies to share with confirmed and adult children! We need your opinions!

If you have been attending Svea for less than 10 years, what attracted you to Svea and what keeps you coming back?

If you have been attending Svea for 10 years or more, what initially attracted you to Svea and what keeps you coming back?

How often do you typically attend on Sunday:  1) once a month, 2) twice a month, 3) three times a month, 4) four times a month, 5) as often as I can.  (Circle one)  Comments:

If you have not been attending Svea worship on a regular basis or no longer consider Svea your church home, please explain and be honest in your answers:

If you have attended a different church in the last year, what did you enjoy about that church that is different from our church?

Moving Forward:  At our annual meeting we discussed incorporating some contemporary elements into our services.

What would a contemporary service look like to you?

If Svea were to incorporate some contemporary elements into our service, would you prefer:

___ Incorporating a contemporary song to each service (sung by small group, choir, congregation)   OR

___ Having a more dedicated contemporary service once or twice a month?

Comments:

What is the one area that our congregation does best?

Needs the most improvement?

If you could change one thing about our church, what would it be?

What is one thing our church could do to improve our outreach into the community?

How might we make church worship more attractive to young families?
